Prime or not prime?

Hi Gorgeous!

Today it is time for primers! How exciting? Right? just messing I am in this funny mood :)
All around we can hear how good or bad is that face foundation, we can find information about them but nobody talk too much about primers, concealers and corrective creams..
Before you apply foundation and after your daily routine so just in between there is a place for few additional steps, and these few can change your life :) First we have to understand that foundation is to make our complexion look even, to cover any spots or imperfecions we have concealer and to make our skin look perfect with the foundation on we have PRIMERS!
In the makeup stores on the shelves we can find many interesting colours of primers and concealers.
These colours are there for a reason.. so let's have a closer look on them:
- green- cancels any acne, sunburn, rosacea and visible capillaries
- pink- brightens the complexion and combats sallow undertones to fair and medium
- purple- does exactly this same as pink
- blue- adds radiance and brightness to porcelain and fair skin tones
- peach- conceals under-eye circles on olive skin tones
- yellow- conceals purple shade of under-eye's circles
- caramel- reduces ashiness on medium and dark skin tones

There is a huge variety in primers at the market, we can find mattifying primers, illuminating primers, minimising pores primers, some of them will help our skin to look even and glowy.
Depend on our needs we have to find the one what will do the job for us, but we don't have to use only one!
There is a great primer from Benefit called Porefessional- it fill in all the fine lines, helping to reduce the visibility of pores - and I use that primer only in the centre part of my face so around my nose and chin it helps out to minimize the pores and I like the way it looks on my skin and the way my foundation sets on it.
On my cheeks and forehead I use MAC Strobe Cream because it gives me the most beautiful glowy look or I use the Estee Lauder Illuminator and I have to say that I like it too and I can't pick up which one I like more.
For oily skin type and actually all skin types you can try Smashbox- they have such a great range of primers with corrective colours. If you have a sensitive skin with lots of redness there is a green base primer which is very good.
I highly recommend Smashbox Photo Finish primer- it is doing an amazing job and in case of oily skin type it makes makeup last really long..
Some of you with oily skin you may have a problem that during the day your makeup disappears.. that is the reason for using a primer.. you won't see that unwanted 'magic' again..
For dry skin types I recommend any primer what will give you that glowy and healthy look..
When you have a dry skin with no imperfections you may only use a good moisturizer and there may be no need for primer if you are happy enough with your skin and with how your makeup lasts on your face during the day. It is a personal choice.
Few weeks ago I got a sample in MAC counter and I have to say I am going to buy a full size product and I am talking here about Natural Radiance Base Lumiere. I think it is a great product!
Now time for concealers and they are made to help you out to cover your dark circles under the eyes and any imperfection but you have to remember that conceal for the eyes area has to be creamy and it can not make the skin dry so you shouldn't use the one for imperfections. There is a difference between concealer for spots and acne.
And I have my favourites in very different price ranges
Concealer for under the eyes are - the first one is Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection such a great product for a good value of money. And the more expensive is NARS Radiant creamy concealer- the biggest love ever.
To cover some spots I like Revlon Photoready concealer and MAC Studio Finish Concealer.
If you have lots of acne and spots you can try to use a corrective cream in green. There is one I really like and it is from Catrice called Camuflage Cream.
But remember when you apply concealer under the eyes you have to set it with setting powder!
Otherwise it will get into your wrinkles and fine-lines :)
All the pictures of the products I've wrote about you will find below.
Hope you enjoy my blog and you can not wait now for the next post.

Xoxo
