What kind of face foundation should we pick up..

The Face foundation is the most important part of the makeup, let me tell you why.

If the skin looks flawless any eyes-makeup or lipstick or even only mascara is going to look great! 

All what you need is a bit of blush and you are ready to go!

We have to remember that there are primers, corrective creams and concealers at the market- all that goodies are to help us to achieve the look we want..

Primers are great to prepare yours skin and I will talk about them in the next blog, I will try to talk about corrective creams and concealers too and powders, don't forget about powders :) 

Many of us will go to the shop and get lost between the shelfs in the makeup store.. There is a huge amount of choice and I am talking about brands, prices range, shades, coverage effects etc. 

First before we go to the shop to find our holy grail we have to describe what are we looking for so: 

-when are we going to use it

-do we want light-medium or high coverage

- do we prefer liquid foundation or maybe in the stick or compact

- what effect on the skin do want to achieve

- how much do want to spend on it

- and the last but the most important- what is our skin type

Knowing all of the above we can do the online research first, now with such a great Google support and different websites as Youtube it is way easier

We have to check what brands are in our price range and start checking what they offer.

If you are looking for a perfect shade remember to pick up neutral or yellow undertone face foundations depends on your skin. We usually have more redness on our faces than man, it is our hormones mostly so adding pink undertone foundation on the top of red pimples and redness would not look good..

Always look on your chest I mean just below the neck, and now the reason why there is because foundation has to match the rest of our body not only neck and neck usually is lighter than chest so the result you will get is light face and neck and darker body.. it does not look great doesn't?

Remember that most of the times our face is way lighter than the rest of the body so keep it in mind when lady in the shop is doing the test with foundation on the side of your cheek.. try to do it on your chin instead. Do not try it on your wrist or hand because you are not going to apply it there.

And it is better to have too light face foundation than too dark because we have such a great stuff as bronzing powders and contouring powders which will help us out to make the whole face darker if needed. You can not make it lighter..

I still haven't find the perfect face foundation and there is nothing wrong with that because there is so many of them at the market that I keep trying different brands and formula and I keep falling in love with new one.  

But my first big love and I can still call it one of my favourite that I always go back to is Revlon Photo Ready, I think it is a great foundation for pictures and cameras and I don't see the almost any difference between Revlon Photo Ready and Makeup Forever HD liquid foundation, I think on the skin they look almost this same and the difference in price it is visible!

The only one thing better about Makeup Forever HD is that they have more shades to choose from. 

I have tried so many different brands starting from L'oreal, Revlon, Bourjois, Makeup Forever, Dior, Estee Lauder, Guerlain etc. 

I can say only one thing that price not always goes with quality and I see that some of the maybe don't call them cheap but decent price foundations are as good or even better than the luxuries brands. 

My big love now for day time is foundation from No7- Instant Radiance. It is such a lovely foundation for every-day use when you don't need to much coverage. It is light to medium coverage with this amazing glow on the skin, but don't get me wrong there is no shiny bits in it. 

I will put few pictures below and picture of myslef with description what foundation I had on. 

Around December I've decided to get one of the high end brands I mean Guerlain Parure de lumiere and to be honest it is nice but there is no 'wow' and I think for this price (it is on the market for around 55€) there should be fireworks. 

I also got Makeup Forever HD foundation (40€)  in a stick and my first impression was bad, after all good reviews I was again expecting something amazing like photo-shop without one if you know what I mean..

I am going to give it another try maybe with different moisturisers and primers and then I will tell you my final review.

There is two foundations I really like and I am talking about L'oreal True Match and Bourjouis Healthy Mix foundation, These two are a must if you have a dry skin and you don't want spend a fortune and still have an amazing face foundation. 

I think they are great and they are worth every penny you are going to spend on them.

I also like a lot the L'oreal Lumi Magique and I think it is a magic.. 

I should mention that if you will be looking for a 'special occasion/ evening' foundation you may want something with a heavy coverage so your skin will look perfect and will last all night long.. 

For me the special occasion/ evening makeup is MAC studio Fix foundation I think it gives the high coverage and the matte effect I achieve is not flat and it looks great all night long. 

I am going to try another few new foundations from my goal list in next the couple of weeks so all my clients will get everything what is the best in my opinion and what looks great and matches their skin types and needs.

Not everybody will like that dewy effect like I do, some of you especially with oily skin will prefer the matte finish and I can recommend MAC studio Fix for sure and Estee Lauder Double Wear or the dupe for it slightly cheaper is Revlon Colour Stay.

Now for oily skin- during the night when you get that shiny forehead or nose don't go with another layer of face blot powder.. use first something what is called an oil blotting paper or oil blotting sheets (MAC or Inglot) it will take away oily sebum and than you can add a bit of mattifying powder then.. and voila lovely and refreshed matte face. 

If your makeup doesn't look so fresh what I sometimes use is MAC Fix+ spray I think it does the job. 

I will continue talking about the face foundations all the time because I think it is very important and so hard to find the perfect one!
